GENERAL REGULATIONS
- The event will be run by classes . Contestants will be paired for the first round at the drivers meeting and informed if that class will be run as Single Doubles ( 6 or more entry's ) or Full Doubles ( 5 or less entry's ) . Subsequent rounds will be determined at the end of each class. Driver or representative of each crew is responsible for checking class sheets for next round.
- Lane choice will be determined by a drawing prior to each race and every round .
- Entire class will be informed when their class is up next and the order they will run. Contestants will be called in pairs to the staging area. If you are interrupting the overall timing of the event you could be disqualified for that run.
- If a contestant encounters mechanical trouble, they must inform the officials before his opponent has proceeded to the staging area to be moved back the end of class.
- In the event there is more than one violation during a pass , the violation that occurs first wll be disqualified for that round .
- If during a race neither vehicle crosses the finish line under its own power , that race will be rerun at a later time .
- The parade run is to establish ruts and is not mandatory, idle speed will be maintained from start up to shutdown, on track and in pit area.
- Idle speed will be maintained in pit area at all times.
- A driver will be disqualified for recklessness or dangerous behavior.
- There will be no alcohol beverages or drugs of any kind in the pits or staging area. Consumption of either by a registered driver or co-driver will result in immediate disqualification. Any driver or crew member incapacitated due to an intoxicating agent will be escorted from the pit area and could result in ejection from the event .
- Use of profanity or threats by any contestant or member of their crew will result in that vehicle and or driver being disqualified & banned from the track and loss of all money and points
- Mud racing is a growing sport. As officials, we cannot be expected to have infinite foresight therefore, be advised that just because a specific item is not covered by a written rule that it may be considered either legal or illegal. Track officials will have the final word on all new items to come along
WARRANTY DISCLAIMER
- The rules and or regulations set forth are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the conditions of all events. And by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations They are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participants, spectator or official.
- The race director shall be empowered to permit minor deviation from any of these specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specifications.
- Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.
SAFETY IMPORTANCE
Mud racing, since the first organized event, has been predicated largely on safety. Methods of operation, facilities, construction and competition practice are regularly reviewed and updated where necessary to help the sport safe conduct. Procedures in general are subject to constant change due to the sports progressive evolutionary pattern. Total responsibility for everyone however, must share mud racing’s safety associated with the sport. Close observance of the standards set forth in this rulebook is an important fundamental.
SAFETY REGULATIONS
- Vehicles must operate in a safe manner at all times. You can be disqualified for operating any vehicle in an unsafe manor or showing poor sportsmanship.
- All vehicles must pass a safety inspection.
- No loose items in bed or cab of vehicle.
- Each wheel will have all lug nuts & tight, no hubcaps or beauty rings.
- Battery must be secured, and not in the drivers compartment.
- No loose parts on vehicle, I.E. fenders, bumpers, lights ECT.
- Suspension, steering & brakes must be in good working order & safe.
- Fuel system & tank must be secured, with fuel caps and in safe condition.
- All vehicles must have a neutral safety switch or a driver in the seat while the motor is running, all solenoid shifters must have relays.
- Drivers and co-drivers in all classes must wear seat belts and helmets.
- All vehicles above STOCK must have roll cage with at least 5-point restraints. Threaded pipefittings or lap weld pipe is not allowed (round tube only). Roll cage must be constructed of minimum .090 wall and 1 1/2" diameter pipe and must be attached to frame at a minimum of four locations.
- Any ballast must be secured, No liquid or loose ballast.
- Flame retardant suit required in all classes above STOCK.
- No more than two people in vehicle during race.
- A fire shield or wall must separate occupants from engine compartment.
- Fire extinguisher required in all classes. (approved and working)
- All vehicles must have brakes on wheels capable of locking and in good working order.
- Once a vehicle is in the staging area, only driver & co-driver allowed in vehicle.
- If vehicle makes it through pits, both must remain in vehicle and return to pit area.
- Vehicle must stop immediately upon signal from official.
- Contestant can only drive one vehicle in each class. Each driver & co-driver must be registered.
STOCK
BODY
- Must retain all factory interior & exterior panels
- Frame must be stock with no modifications
- Any type bed allowed
- Must be street able with windshield
- Current safety inspection & license required & proof of ins. idenifying the race vehicle
- No ATV type vehicles or motorcycles
ENGINE
- Must have been available in year and model
- No open headers
- Stock OEM engine only
- Must pull 15” of vacuum at 900 RPMS & must have a port on the manifold to test from
TRANSMISSION
- Factory Stock Only
GEARS
- Any gear ratio allowed
FUEL
- Gasoline only, NO Additives or race fuel
- NO Nitrous Oxide
GENERAL
- Complete brake system working
- Seat belts with shoulder harness required
- All occupants must wear helmets
- DOT tires only, NO cutting or trimming
- 4 wheel drive only
ECONOMY
BODY
- Any safe frame allowed (as determined by officials)
- Must have sheet metal around driver’s compartment
- 2 or 4 wheel drive allowed & must have firewall between engine & driver compartment
- Must have OEM-style body panels (no sheet metal bodies)
ENGINE
- OEM engine only - 0.060 overbore up to 474 CID (Flat top pistons and stock valve train)
- 4 Wheel drives will be allowed aluminum dual-plane intakes
- Headers allowed
- Cast iron intakes only
- No turbo except diesel, but must be stock
- 2 wheel drive allowed OEM ignition only and no electronics with the exception of MSD Soft-Touch Rev control (used for max RPM only)
- 4 Wheel drive is allowed MSD distributor and MSD 6A ignition box
- Hydraulic cams only
- Carburator- 4150 base or Quadrajet (No Demons, Predators, etc.)
- Must pull 15” of vacuum at 900 RPMS & must have a port on the manifold to test vacuum
TRANSMISSION
- No 2 speeds
- No Trans brake
FUEL
- Gasoline or racing gas allowed
- NO nitrous oxide or additives
- NO alcohol allowed
- NO propane allowed
GENERAL
- NO paddle tires
- Must have 3 working brakes, must have a dual reservoir master cylinder that provides a primary and secondary braking system
SUPER STOCK
BODY
- Must retain all factory exterior panels
- Any type usable bed allowed, no tarps
- Must have windshield
- No ATV type or motorcycles
- Must have leaf springs, 2 stabilizer bars allowed (1 on each side), Coilovers allowed (may be relocated)
- No S-10 or Rangers - Must be full size 4X4, must have firewall
ENGINE
- Any 8-cylinder OEM block allowed
- Aluminum intake allowed, one four barrel carburetor
- NO aluminum heads (after market heads allowed 23 deg.)
- Open headers allowed
- MSD ignition allowed NO accessories, (electronics, line lock , ECT.) Shifters allowed
- Roller cams allowed
- One Carburetor
- CID LIMIT 474
FUEL
- Pump or racing gasoline only
- NO Nitrous oxide
- NO Additives
TRANSMISSION
- Stock only
- Stall converter allowed
- No 2 speeds
- No working trans brakes (must be disconnected at the solenoid)
GEARS
- Any gear ratio allowed
- 4 wheel drive only
GENERAL
- Any DOT tire allowed NO cut or trimmed tires
- 3 brakes must be in working order, must have a dual reservoir master cylinder that provides a primary and secondary braking system
WEIGHT LIMIT MINIMUM
- BIG BLOCK 4000 lbs.
- SMALL BLOCKS 3600 lbs.
E.T. Faster than 4.30, lose that round
SUPER GAS
BODY
- No S-10 or Rangers- must be full size 4X4
- Must retain all exterior body panels NO fiber glass
- Must be available as 4x4 that year and model
- Frame must be factory stock (engine and transmission in stock location)
- Fenders may be cut for tire clearance only
- Must have a windshield & hood
- Total vehicle weight must exceed 3500 lbs.
- Ballast allowed but must be secured
- Vehicle must represent OEM models & must have firewalls
ENGINE
- 410 CUBIC INCH TOTAL SMALL BLOCK ONLY
- One four barrel carburetor - NO DOMINATORS
- Aluminum intake allowed, NO tunnel rams
- Roller cam & lifters allowed
- 23-degree cast iron or aluminum heads - aluminum heads must be Brodix Trac 1 or Dart Pro 1 only and all casting # ‘s must be present and legible , no modifications or valve angle changes
- After market ignition allowed
- 2” spacer allowed between carburetor and manifold
TRANSMISSION
- OEM styles trans. & transfer only

- Any internal modifications allowed
- Single 4-barrel carburetor allowed
- NO Super chargers or turbo chargers
- NO Sheet metal intake or tunnel rams
- No Aluminum Blocks Allowed
TRANSMISSION
- Any safe combination allowed
- Scatter shield or safety blanket required
- Drive shaft loops required
- Any gear ratio allowed

- NO sheet metal intakes or tunnel rams
- NO blowers or turbo chargers
GEARS
- Any gear ratio or locking device allowed
SUSPENSION & STEERING
- Any safe modification allowed
FUEL
- Alcohol or racing fuel allowed
- NO nitrous or additives allowed
WEIGHT
- SMALL BLOCK 2800 LBS
- BIG BLOCK 3200 LBS
GENERAL

4 WHEEL OPEN

- Tail gates and hoods may be removed
- Ballast allowed but must be secured
- Sheet metal between driver and engine compartment to protect from fluids.
- Must have factory style body panels- Rear engine must have body from cab forward
ENGINE
- Any size allowed
- NO blowers or turbo chargers allowed
GEARS
- Any gear ratio allowed
- Any locking device allowed
TRANSMISSION
- Any safe combination allowed
- Drive shaft loops required
- Scatter shield or blanket required
STEERING & SUSPENSION

- TOTAL WEIGHT WITH SMALL BLOCK & NITROUS OXIDE OR INJECTION MUST EXCEED 2700 LBS
GENERAL

BLOWN - 2 Wheel & 4 Wheel Drive
BODY
- Trimming or narrowing allowed
- Ballast allowed but must be secured
- Total weight limit must exceed 2500 lbs.
ENGINE
- Any size engine allowed, no limit to modifications Blowers must retain NHRA safety equipment
- No turbo chargers
GEARS
- Any gear ratio allowed
- Any locking device allowed
- Scatter shield or blanket required
- Drive shaft loops required
- 5 point safety harness required Window nets or arm restraints recommended
BRAKES
- At least 3 visible working brakes required, must have a dual reservoir master cylinder that provides a primary and secondary braking system
WHEELS & TIRES
- Any safe combination of wheels allowed
- Any tires, cut or uncut
These updated rules supercede & prevail over all previous rules written or “unwritten”; drivers will be informed of any changes or additions to these rules at the drivers meeting.
